When can my son tryout for one of your teams?
Tryouts are held year-round by arrangement only.  Please call one of our coaches to get information and time/date.

Can my son just attend the practices, as he is not quite ready to tryout for one of your travel teams?Yes!  We have players that just attend practices for the instruction, skill development and conditioning.

So, if my son progresses through your practices, will he have the opportunity to tryout at a later date for one of your teams?
Yes.  If your son puts in the time and effort and deserves to make one of our teams, then we will approach you ahead of time.  Players earn their spots on our travel teams.

How many players do you carry on your travel teams?
We carry a maximum of 10 players per team.

What is your philosophy on playing time?
Players earn their minutes.  Grades, practice attendance, attitude, following direction, game performance, etc. all contribute to increased or the loss of minutes.  None of our coaches have any of their own children on any of our teams.

So, is it possible that my son could not see any game minutes in a game?
Yes.  It is also possible that your son could play the entire game if he so deserves it and is able to do so.  We are flexible with minutes per player and understand that all players need to be on the court to improve and utilize the skill development that they are learning at practices, but the bottom line is that the team takes priority over the player.

That sounds tough.  I’m not sure if I am okay with that.
There is a risk in every choice we make, as there are no guarantees in life or basketball.  We try to instill this within all of our players, and truly give them something to aim for.  Players always know where they stand on the team and their contribution is no less significant than a player who is the high scorer in any particular game.  All players can make the choice to be a contributor on the court or be an observer.
Playing time is earned; not shared.
Our travel teams practice 6 hours per week, while a game will only last 40 minutes.  There is a significant discrepancy in the time your son will be on the court at practices versus an actual game.

Where do you play?
Our travel teams play in a travel league based out of Santa Clarita.  Gym locations vary, to include San Fernando Valley, Pasadena, Panorama City and surrounding cities.  Games are on Sundays, with occasional Saturday games.  Gym locations are generally high school gymnasiums.
Tournaments are on weekends, both Saturday and Sunday, and are usually at least one tournament per month on top of league.  League play would be a bye weekend in lieu of the tournament date.  We balance our tournament schedule to include local and out of town locations so not to burden the families with travel expenses.  Past tournament locations include Anaheim, Garden Grove, Palm Springs, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Valencia and Las Vegas.

Okay, so I think I’m interested in bringing my son out.  What do I do now?
Please contact one of our coaches on our Contact Us link, and we will arrange to have your son attend a few of our practices so you can observe our program.  It will also allow us to give your son the necessary time for our coaches to observe his attitude, motivation and skill.
